Neverending Family Stress

I don't which is going to put me in an early grave first, my sixty year old mother in law that lives with us and acts like she is ninety, but only when it benefits her or my twenty year old daughter that has a baby and some times lives with us and some times lives with her jackass boyfriend?

What a weekend

Allison enjoyed both of her Brownie outings. The Hannah Montana party was a blast. The girls danced, sang and played games for prizes. Then Saturday they had a good time touring and learning all about the vet clinic. The troop leader who works there was able to show them how to take an X-ray. Allison was thrilled.

Saturday night we spent time at my sisters house. I am so glad our families match up so nice because spending time with my sister is so important to me. It was the usual scene, the men in the living room, a.k.a. the man cave with their PS3's, my sister and I in the kitchen with our laptops and few drinks and the two kids in the basement playing with their Webkinz and watching movies. Always a good time.

Yesterday I spent the day with my step sister and her daughter. They live a distance away so we don't see each other very often. So when we do I really enjoy it. First all three of us sisters went to noon mass with the kids and their husbands. Mine is the only one who wants nothing to do with that. Then my step sister and I took our daughters out for a little shopping, hair cuts and late lunch. The hair cuts didn't go as well as we had hoped but the day was a lot of fun.

It was one busy weekend

A Very Brownie Weekend

My daughter Allison is booked with Brownie outings this weekend. First we have a Hannah Montana party tonight and then the troop is going on a tour of a local vet clinic tomorrow afternoon. She seems pretty excited about them both. She sure has been one busy little girl lately.

A little better of a mood

I have to say my mood is a little bit better today then it has been all week. I have been going to bed between 9:00 and 9:30 pm every night and that seems to be helping some. Maybe it's helping to cut my evening at home short, I don't know? My husband has also been really sweet lately, when I see him. He works a lot leaving me with our daughter and his mother most of my evenings. I just keep trying to remind myself that as hard as it is to have my mother in law living with us and as much as I miss the way our life use to be, it's only a fraction of how much my husband misses his brother. It all stinks.

Feeling Dark & Ugly

I am in such a dark and ugly mood today. Borderline depressed. I have been fighting the urge to scream and cry even since I walked in the door yesterday from work.

A year ago last week, my brother in law passed away. He lived with and helped support my mother in law, who has way too may issues (mostly mental) to list. When he died, she could no longer afford the apartment they shared so she moved in with us. I also should point out that she is the person I dislike, bump heads with, have very different views on life, most in the world. So, you can imagine how hard it is to have her living in my house. She is all about self pity and blaming the world for her problems. But I have a wonderful husband who I love so much, that I am trying to make this work. There are even days that I think this is not so bad, but they are far and getting more few between.

The stress of having my mother in law live with us and the stress that we have put on our selfs in the way of bills, some days just feels like too much. Today is one of those days.

30 Days of Night

I thought it was pretty good. Better then I expected. Lots of action and suspense, blood and gore. Some scenes were so gross I had to hide my face but I still thought the movie was a lot of fun. I thought Josh Hartnett did a great job.

Pizza and beer night

Our daughter was invited to a sleep over at her best friends house. So, I just ran out in the snow to surprise my husband with a pizza and beer night tonight, complete with a scary movie. I rented 30 Days of Night! I'll let you know what I think tomorrow. The preview looks pretty scary to me.

Kid time

Why is it when ever I am alone in the office I feel like a total kid? I eat junk food and surf the web all day. I get very little work done, if any.
I guess it really is like the saying "while the cat is away, the mice will play".

I love these days.

Woman Stuck on a toilet for 2 years!

WICHITA, Kan. Authorities are considering charges in the bizarre case of a woman who sat on her boyfriend's toilet for two years so long that her body was stuck to the seat by the time the boyfriend finally called police.

Ness County Sheriff Bryan Whipple said it appeared the 35-year-old Ness City woman's skin had grown around the seat. She initially refused emergency medical services but was finally convinced by responders and her boyfriend that she needed to be checked out at a hospital.

"We pried the toilet seat off with a pry bar and the seat went with her to the hospital," Whipple said. "The hospital removed it."

Whipple said investigators planned to present their report Wednesday to the county attorney, who will determine whether any charges should be filed against the woman's 36-year old boyfriend.

"She was not glued. She was not tied. She was just physically stuck by her body," Whipple said. It is hard to imagine. I still have a hard time imagining it myself."

He told investigators he brought his girlfriend food and water, and asked her every day to come out of the bathroom.

"And her reply would be, Maybe tomorrow, Whipple said. "According to him, she did not want to leave the bathroom."

The boyfriend called police on Feb. 27 to report that "there was something wrong with his girlfriend," Whipple said, adding that he never explained why it took him two years to call.

Police found the clothed woman sitting on the toilet, her sweat pants down to her mid-thigh. She was "somewhat disoriented," and her legs looked like they had atrophied, Whipple said.

"She said that she didn't need any help, that she was OK and did not want to leave," he said.

She was reported in fair condition at a hospital in Wichita, about 150 miles southeast of Ness City. Whipple said she has refused to cooperate with medical providers or law enforcement investigators.

Authorities said they did not know if she was mentally or physically disabled.

Police have declined to release the couple's names, but the house where authorities say the incident happened is listed in public records as the residence of Kory McFarren. No one answered his home phone number.

The case has been the buzz of Ness City, said James Ellis, a neighbor.

"I don't think anybody can make any sense out of it," he said.

Ellis said he had known the woman since she was a child but that he had not seen her for at least six years.

He said she had a tough childhood after her mother died at a young age and apparently was usually kept inside the house as she grew up. At one time the woman worked for a long-term care facility, he said, but he did not know what kind of work she did there.

"It really doesn't surprise me," Ellis said. "What surprises me is somebody wasn't called in a bit earlier."

Just around the corner

The weather has really warmed up over the last two days. The feeling of spring is just around the corner. Warm weather brings, family BBQ's, trips the park and long evening walks with the kids. I can't wait to get my granddaughter out in her stroller to explore the world. It's going to a good season. I can feel it.

Weekend update

Well yesterday sure didn't go as planned but I can't say it was a bad day. I ended up doing some running around with my daughter and granddaughter. Man, it seems her infant car seat is way heavier then when my girls were babies. By the time I left the third store I felt as if my arm was going to fall off.

My sister and her family were here for a couple of hours doing taxes with my husband and ended up taking my daughter and granddaughter home with them for the night. How cool is that? I KNOW !

It was a hard decision if Gerry and I wanted to go out for dinner or order in. We ended up ordering in and watching a movie. It was nice. I even made myself a drink after dinner and was on line listening to music for a little while. But what is nice is this morning! I was up and in the shower early so I could spend some time enjoying the peace and quiet and boy am I. I have the blinds open and the sun coming in is just beautiful.
I am telling you, sisters are the best ! I owe her big time.

Snowed in this weekend

First the news said we were getting eight more inches of snow today and even more over the weekend. So I went out last night and bought all kinds of munchies and things to make dinner in prepare for us to me snowed in. Honestly to be snowed in and spend the weekend hanging around the house with my husband and kids in our PJ's sounds perfect to me. Now the news is saying we not going to get all this talked about snow. Which is fine too but I told my husband we are still being "snowed in" this weekend. It's been long week and could use the R & R with my family.

Sunday Happenings

I hosted a great candle party here last night. A house full of women, good food and a bunch of booze is always a good time! We talked and laughed for hours. I feel so lucky to have such a great group of women to call family and friends. I even made enough on my sales to get the item I was after and then some for free. I like free!

Today, I plan to take it pretty easy. Hang around the house and maybe do some Ebay posting. I am trying to raise some extra spending money for my daughter who is going to London for two weeks with my parents in April. I still can't believe she is going to be that far away from me. Makes me freak out a little when I think about it.
