Soup for me

I hate going to the dentist! I needed two fillings so I thought it would be better to just get them over with at the same time. This morning I am not so sure that was a good idea. My face is still swollen and it hurts. I guess it's soup for me today.

Extreme experience

I am really thinking of trying paintball. I think it might be some thing fun for Gerry and I to do with a group of our friends. My husband likes to fish and golf and that is fine for him, but neither are some thing that we can do with a group. Paintball would be some thing we could all do just to have a really good time that doesn't take a whole lot of skill to begin. So that doesn't leave some one like me out who has absolutely no sporting experience at all.

I've been looking at different sites to find the equipment needed and Ultimate Paintball seems to be the best around. They have a wide variety of equipment, including Tippmann, Smart Parts, Dye, Spyder Electra and Draxxus paintball gear plus many more brands which you can find on their website at fairly reasonable prices. I am really looking forward to the extreme paintball experience. I think it's something that will allow us to blow off some steam and take a break from our every day lives.

When we find the time to try this and I am sure we will, look for me to post a photo of me in my paintball mask. ..LOL

Over the hump

I am so happy to be just about over the hump of a busy and complicated work week!
At least I'll be alone in the office for the next couple of days. That gives me the freedom to get in some extra blog reading and posting during the day.

A new look

A new look for this Geekymom.

I loved the designer template I had but the designer I bought if from let her Photo Bucket account and URL expire, leaving me with nothing but errors all over this page. When I logged on last night and saw them I was pretty upset.
So, after a few hours of searching and fooling around with templates, I found this one.

I like it!

Still makes me smile

From as far back as I can remember my grandmother always had a grandfather clock in her family room. Missing her now like I do I am thinking about adding a nice grandfather clock of my own to our family room. Howard Miller clocks has a very nice selection of grandfather clocks to chose from and an easy web site to shop at. Some thing like this one would not only look nice but might also give our granddaughter the same nice family memories when she sees and hears it in our home. The sounds of a grandfather clock still make me smile to this day. Probably always will.
Howard Miller Clocks also is a great place to purchase new and modern clocks like an Atomic Wall Clock, which is some thing my husband has been asking for as a Father's Day gift , a birthday gift and now this year for his Christmas gift. I think after shopping on line at www.1-800-4CLOCKS.com and reading up on Atomic Wall Clocks, I can see that Howard Miller Clocks is the place to purchase it.
They even have a blog section to their web site. Filled with all kinds of helpful information.
Howard Miller Clocks also offers a great "low price guarantee" on most every new clock they sell and offer free shipping on all orders over $100! . Which make me even more sure I am shopping a the right place.

If a new clock is in your near future then you want to check them out, every thing from Howard Miller grandfather clocks to some thing more fun like a novelty clock.

Computer trouble

I haven't had time to blog much lately. I've had my head stuck in all kinds of computer troubles at work and at home.
At work my computer picked up a nasty virus and our IT guy found all kinds of errors on the hard drive. So after a few days of fighting with it, they decided that tomorrow they will be installing a new HD.
At home, I bought both my girls used Mac's on Ebay and they have been nothing but TROUBLE so far. I have hope for one of them, an iBook G3, it came with the original disks and my husband plans to wipe the HD clean and reinstall the software. That should fix it. I hope !
BUT the other, the cute blue Clamshell iBook I bought for our nine year old has no real hope. It runs like a champ and looks great but with an old and outdated screen resolution, and no way of updating it it's worthless to her. If she can't use it for Webkinz, it's gotta go! So back to Ebay that is going.

Pizza

Pizza - it's whats for dinner, lunch and even breakfast.

We ordered two large pizza's on Thursday night, two because it's only a dollar more then paying for one plus delivery. I took a left over slice with me for lunch yesterday and then when I came home from work I had another for dinner. And because I get just pineapple on one pizza, I am having it again this morning for breakfast.
Not the healthiest diet I am sure but an easy one.

More long weekends please

We had the best 4th of July weekend. We went to the fireworks, we grilled, the kids made smores and camped out in our tent in the back yard. We spent the day at the pool and had drinks around our fire pit with friends. It was the perfect holiday weekend. I need more weekends like that.

Job Love

Some times I really love my job. I spend a lot of days bored with not much to do and the day just drags on and on. Other days like today, I had just enough to do to keep me busy and pass the day along. I especially love it when I am alone in the office. This week it's just the owner, his son and myself. Everyone else is on vacation for the 4th of July. It's great to be able to break up the usual routine and just do my own thing for a few days.
