Job Love

Some times I really love my job. I spend a lot of days bored with not much to do and the day just drags on and on. Other days like today, I had just enough to do to keep me busy and pass the day along. I especially love it when I am alone in the office. This week it's just the owner, his son and myself. Everyone else is on vacation for the 4th of July. It's great to be able to break up the usual routine and just do my own thing for a few days.

Life just seems harder these days. My husband and I are having problems, financial troubles, stress from the girls and a lot of stress is coming from his mother living with us. I started looking for a second job last week. No luck yet. I would love to find some thing a couple evenings a week and maybe one or two weekends a month. Not only for the money but to help me get out of the house and away from the stress.

We let our daughter have a sleep over party for her birthday this past weekend. I thought if we kept it small (four girls) it wouldn't be a big deal. BUT it turns out four nine year old girls is a very big deal. They we so moody and mean to each other I was ready to drive them home by 9:00pm. Every game we played, some one cried. Every little while, some one was fighting or disagreeing. Girls are crazy. Never, ever again!

Stuffy

I woke up today with a stuffy nose, both ears plugged and feeling like crap. Even taking sinus pills I have been blowing my nose and complaining all day. I was fine yesterday and even last night. How the heck do you get this sick while you sleep?
I am such a baby, I hate being sick.

My plan for tonight is to soak in a hot bath and load up on cold meds and then go to bed early. I sure hope I beat this early and it doesn't drag on and on. This is not a good time to be sick.

Summer Hobbies

Our daughter is spending most of her summer at my sisters house with my nephew this year. There are a few other kids on their block around the same age and my sister and husband just recently bought a pool so I am sure she will be having a good time while there. But the other days during the summer is what I am worried about. While she is home she will be spending it with her grandmother. I have been doing a little searching around the web for a good summer hobby that they can share. I came up with a great idea that I use to enjoy with my grandmother when I was young, bird watching. Father's Day

We had a fantastic Father's Day. My sister and I combined our dinners and families and we celebrated over her house. It was really a good time. I love it that we live in the same city and so close to each other. I think it's four minutes from drive way to drive way. I love it.

Growing up

Today is my daughters first day of summer vacation. I still can not believe that she is done with the third grade. Time goes by so fast! Last night I looked over and saw her standing next to her dad and I just couldn't get over how tall she is getting. When did that happen and where was I? My little girl is growing up. I know all mom's tend to say these same things but I still can't believe it!

Weekend in a flash

Not much to blog about lately. Another weekend went by in a flash. I spend a lot of it working around the house and even cut the grass in 92 degree heat. Man was I covered in sweat. A cold shower never felt so good.

Sunday I got in some nice play time with my granddaughter.

SATC:Movie

After waiting and counting down the days my sister and I saw the Sex & The City movie Friday night. We really had a good time, dinner first and a couple of yummy drinks then caught the 10:10pm showing. The place was packed with women, all just as excited as we were. Ok, maybe not "all". But most! It was a good thing we bought our tickets so far in advanced because even getting there an hour before the show time we had at least 20 women in line ahead of us.

I wont give away any spoilers but I can tell you the movie was FABULOUS ! We both loved every minute of it. If you are a real SATC fan, you wont be disappointed.

Something new and fun

I am really thinking of trying spyder paintball . I think it might be some thing fun for my husband and I to do with a group of our friends. My husband likes to fish and golf and that is fine for him, but neither are some thing that we can do with a group. Paintball would be some thing we could all do just to have a really good time that doesn't take a whole lot of skill to begin. So that doesn't leave some one like me out who has absolutely no sporting experience at all.

I've been looking at different sites to find the equipment needed and Ultimate Paintball seems to be the best around. They have a wide variety of equipment, including Tippmann, Spyder, Smart Parts, Dye, and Draxxus paintball gear plus many more brands which you can find on their website at fairly reasonable prices. I am really looking forward to the extreme paintball experience. I think it's something that will allow us to blow off some steam and take a break from our every day lives.

Wonderful weekend

My husband and I had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend up north. This time we went up just the two of us, no kids. We spent most of the weekend laughing and sitting by the fire with a group of family and friends. Lots of R & R ! It was just what we needed right now.

Stories of the NFR

If it's one event I have heard a lot about all of my life, it is the NFR, (Wrangler National Finals Rodeo). My grandpa use to tell me stories all the time. He was so proud to have been there the few times he was able. Thanks to him and his story telling, I can tell you all about how it started in 1985 in Las Vegas and how exciting it was and how he was right there to see it. Then in 1989, how Ty Murray became the youngest all around world champion in PRCA history at the young age of 20. How he broke the record of Jim Sharp, who had won the impressive title at only 21 years old. Yep, those were the stories I listen too over and over as I was growing up. There are plenty more stored in my memory like, in 2001 Cody Hancock broke a 27 year old record by riding Diamond G's Mr. USA for 96 points at the NFR. Man how my grandpa wanted to be there for that. He had to be home here in Michigan to work but it didn't stop him from telling me about it every time I would visit. He says that those days are past him now because he is too old to travel but I sure would love to be able to surprise him with Wrangler National Finals Rodeo tickets some time. I can't imagine any thing making him more happy!

Short week

Today seemed to go by so much faster than yesterday. Of course it might just be my excitement about the upcoming long weekend. Our office is closed Thursday through Monday. I mean who doesn't love a nice four day weekend? My husband and I have plans to go up north and hang out with my parents. Which is always a good time !
